Job Introduction
An exciting opportunity has arisen for us to appoint a driven and enthusiastic Head of PE, Sport and Swimming, with a passion for learning and a desire to maximise the potential of each child on their journey through the School. The role will be a temporary maternity cover for approx. 2 terms. The appointee will be responsible for teaching PE and swimming from Reception to Form 6, and leading sport fixtures across KS2. This role will suit a passionate teacher, with a firm understanding of current relevant pedagogy and assessment practices, and a desire to engage in the wider life of the School. We are a warm family-oriented community with a strong emphasis upon the holistic needs of our children as well as sound academics. This role is part -time – 3.5 days per week. Our school day runs from 8.25am-3-40am with a one-hour club commitment, after school, once per week. A weekly staff meeting runs until 5pm. While some staff prefer to work school, there is also flexibility to work outside of the hours of the school day.
This post will involve regulated activity with children. Please note this means being responsible on a regular basis for teaching, supervising, training, instructing, and caring for children without supervision.
Staff are expected to take responsibility for own continuous professional development including attending relevant training and CPD and to participate in the annual performance review process
