Job Introduction

Repton Prep is the ideal school for future elite sports men and women to begin their training and start working on individual sports with high quality coaching and development programmes. Many of our pupils have gone on to represent their country in their chosen disciplines. Hockey, Football, Cricket, Netball and Swimming are delivered as the main sports across the curriculum, with Athletics and PE taught alongside these areas.

Graduate Assistants specialising in Games will be able to coach teams in areas of specialism, as well as getting experience in other sports, learning from our existing team of specialist teachers.

Repton Prep teaches French from Year 1 and introduces Latin into the curriculum in Year 6, and Spanish from Year 7. Our MFL department is a vibrant place to be, with lots of practical and spoken lessons, supported by a dedicated Language Lab.

Graduate Assistants that specialise in Languages are able to support lessons, offer one-to-one additional sessions to those that need either extension level work or support with catch up and foundations, as well as run after school language clubs and workshops.

As a Graduate Assistant interested in academic teaching, you will be able to support lessons and observe teachers in the classroom. As the year progresses, it will be possible to take small groups and offer additional sessions and lesson cover as required. You will learn the foundation skills needed to be an effective classroom practitioner. There is also chance to explore your passions and work in our Drama, Art, DT and Music departments.

The role is required for the 2026-2027 academic year.

The deadline for receipt of applications is 10.00am on Monday 24th November 2025.

You should complete the online application form and also submit a covering letter, addressed to Mrs Vicky Harding, Head, which should include what attracts you to the position and how you feel your experience, skills and personal qualities qualify you to take on the role.

If you have any questions about submitting your application, please contact HR on hr@repton.org.uk.

With high-quality coaching and outstanding facilities, many of our pupils go on to represent their country in sports such as Hockey, Football, Cricket, Netball, and Swimming, with Athletics and PE also central to our curriculum.

Graduate Assistants – Games

Graduate Assistants – Languages (MFL)
Languages are a vibrant part of life at Repton Prep, with French taught from Year 1, Latin introduced in Year 6, and Spanish added in Year 7. Graduate Assistants specialising in MFL will support lessons, deliver one-to-one stretch or catch-up sessions, and run engaging language clubs and workshops. You’ll also have access to our dedicated Language Lab, which brings lessons to life through practical and spoken activities.

Graduate Assistants – Academic

You will support lessons, observe skilled teachers, and gradually take on small groups or cover sessions as your confidence grows, building the essential foundations of excellent classroom practice. There are also opportunities to contribute to wider school life, including Drama, Art, DT, and Music.

This is a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in a thriving school community, explore your interests, and gain meaningful experience that will support your future career.

About Repton School

Repton is the ancient capital of Mercia, and the School, founded in 1557 from a bequest from Sir John Port of Etwall, was established on the site of a 7th century Anglo-Saxon Benedictine abbey and latterly a 12th century Augustinian priory and the School today incorporates many of the original buildings from the estate.

The School has over one thousand pupils across the Prep and Senior School, making it large enough to achieve excellence in and out of the classroom, yet small enough for individuals to grow and succeed. Repton and Repton Prep have always enjoyed a very close relationship and in 2020, the schools became a through-school.

At Repton Senior, each pupil, whether day or boarding, is a member of a House. Academic standards are high and creative activities, including music, art, drama and design, flourish. The School has a national profile in sport, in particular in football, hockey, cricket and swimming. Our pupils thrive both in and out of the classroom and they develop the skills, qualities and values that will lead to a successful life.

Repton was one of the first British schools to set up overseas schools with the establishment of Repton School Dubai in 2007, and the development of a community of international schools is key to Repton’s future vision. Currently, Repton has schools in Dubai (2), Abu Dhabi (2), China, and Egypt, with plans to open a further four more over the next few years. Repton also includes five schools in the UK (Repton, Repton Prep, St Wystan’s, Vinehall and Marlborough House) with the ambition to grow its UK family of schools.
