Location:  Repton School

Contract Type:  Permanent, term time only.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 4pm to 6pm.

Salary: £14 per hour

Job Introduction

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Central Cleaner to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students and staff.

Main Responsibilities

Your duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

Hallways / Corridors

• Daily Sweep / vacuum / mop floors and stairways.
• Daily clean door handles and stair banisters.
• Scrub / polish floors using electrically powered scrubbing / polishing machines as directed (after receiving instruction and training).
• Weekly wash down walls and skirting boards removing all marks.
• Weekly clean internal widows that can be reached.

Classrooms

• Daily, empty waste bins and then transport waste to designated collection points.
• Daily sweep / vacuum / mop floors.
• Daily damp wipe / polish areas that can be easily accessed, windowsills and ledges, and external surfaces of furniture, cupboards, radiators and shelves.
• Daily wipe down / polish teachers’ and students’ desks. Clean and remove unwanted items from underneath tables.
• Weekly damp wash table / chair legs.
• Weekly wash down walls and skirting boards removing all possible marks.
• Weekly clean internal widows that can be reached

Toilets / Shower Rooms

• Daily clean all toilets, urinals, hand basins, sinks, baths, showers and drinking fountains.
• Replenishing and placing orders for stock items such as soap, toilet rolls, paper towels etc.

Kitchen areas (Undercroft)

• Daily wipe down all surfaces.
• Weekly clean inside the fridge.
• Weekly clean the baskets housing the cups.
• Monthly de-scale kettle if required.
• Monthly remove items from inside cupboards and clean shelves.

About Repton School

Repton is the ancient capital of Mercia, and the School, founded in 1557 from a bequest from Sir John Port of Etwall, was established on the site of a 7th century Anglo-Saxon Benedictine abbey and latterly a 12th century Augustinian priory and the School today incorporates many of the original buildings from the estate.

The School has over one thousand pupils across the Prep and Senior School, making it large enough to achieve excellence in and out of the classroom, yet small enough for individuals to grow and succeed.
